OARC 30 (CfP, Registrations, Accommodation)
Co-locating with ICANN GDD, Registration Operations Workshop & ICANN DNS Symposium
DNS-OARC is coming to Bangkok, TH for its 30th Workshop and will have a complementary programme with the ICANN DNS Symposium!
It takes place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok on May 12th and 13th, 2019 – immediately after the 3rd ICANN DNS Symposium (IDS 2019) on May 10th and 11th.
ICANN GDD (May 6th — 9th) and Registration Operations Workshop (May 9th) precede these.
In addition, there are a few local events taking place within the industry. The BKNIX Peering Forum 2019, ThaiNOG Day #2, Cyber Security Workshop and BGP Peering Workshop take place from May 7th to May 11th, 2019 at the Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20.
OARC 30 Call for Presentations
The Workshop’s Program Committee is requesting proposals for presentations. All DNS-related subjects are welcome.
A timeslot will also be available for lightning talks (5–10 minutes) on day two of the workshop for which submissions will be accepted until the start of the morning session on day two.
There will be a Members-only session during the workshop, which will include reports on DNS-OARC’s activities. If you are an OARC member and have a sensitive topic that you wish to present during that session those can be accommodated.

<https://indico.dns-oarc.net/event/31/call-for-abstracts/>The workshop presentations will be organized by common themes, depending on the topics and the timing of each presentation. There are 30-minute and 15-minute slots – let us know your preference in your submission.
To allow the Programme Committee to make objective assessments of submissions, so as to ensure the quality of the workshop, submissions SHOULD include slides. Draft slides are acceptable on submission.

Please note that OARC is run on a non-profit basis, and is not in a position to reimburse expenses or time for speakers at its meetings.
Additionally, if your submission is accepted as a presentation for OARC 30, your name and affiliation will be published and available publicly on the workshop website.
Attending OARC 30
Attending DNS-OARC Workshops is open to all OARC members and other parties interested in DNS operations and research.
ICANN DNS Symposium (taking place immediately prior to OARC 30) attendees are particularly welcome as both meetings will have complementary and non-overlapping content.
Those who are attending ICANN GDD, and Registration Operations Workshop, also taking place in the same venue, prior to ICANN DNS Symposium are also welcome to attend OARC 30.
Thanks to ICANN hosting OARC 30, there is no registration fee to pay to attend the workshop this time around.

Note about Visas: If you require a Visa, please first register to attend the ICANN DNS Symposium and then request your invitation letter from them.
A visitor visa will be required under the Tourism Authority of Thailand Act B.E. 2522 (1979), though some nationalities enjoy visa-free or Visa-on-Arrival travel in Thailand. Please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for more details.
Accommodation during OARC 30
As we are co-locating with ICANN GDD Summit, Registration Operations Workshop and ICANN DNS Symposium, our hotel room block — at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok — is the same as those events (starting at THB 5300 + 17.7% tax, breakfast and wifi included).

Please note that ICANN room allocations get booked up rapidly, and it would be prudent to book accommodation sooner rather than later.

OARC aims to keep its workshops self sustainable and thus relies on sponsorship as one part of funding to meet the total (including non-venue and non-workshop days) costs associated with running the workshops and related social events.
