Madrid got even warmer on this day.. not only the weather, the content in being presented in the room too — 18 presentations!
The morning plenary session focused on DNSSEC — Root zone KSK rollover update, Who’s Asking?, NSEC5: Updated specification and implementation results, What DNS Admins Should Know About Post-Quantum Cryptography, and Faking EDNS Key Tag.
The attendees then enjoyed a 30-minute networking coffee break after which the late-morning plenary session focused on Data Analysis — How do we analyze over O(100B) DNS requests daily, dnstap: Use Cases and Performance Analysis, and DNS Traffic Sampling in dnscap.
The afternoon’s first plenary session had a Security and Privacy focus — Zone Poisoning: The How and Where of Non-Secure DNS Dynamic Updates, Survey of DNS abuse types from a TLD point of view, The Dark Side of the DNS, dnsprivacy.net — A project to support deployment of DNS-over-TLS services, and The Importance of Being an Earnest stub.
The final plenary session after the mid-afternoon break had a broader remit with a mix of lightning talks. Lightning Presentations included DNS Not Over UDP/TCP, mid-2017 Update, DNS-over-QUIC, ECS Support Detection and Birthday Attack Hardening, ANAME: Address-specific DNS Name Redirection, and ending the afternoon with dnsdist: two years later.
