Are you ready to make an impact at OARC Workshops? Our Mentor-Mentee Program helps first-time attendees feel welcomed and connected, and after the success of its reinvention at OARC 43, we’re looking to grow our pool of mentors to make it even better!
Why Volunteer as a Mentor?
- Support Newcomers: Help first-time attendees navigate the workshop, meet others, and engage with the DNS-OARC community.
- Enhance Connections: Build meaningful relationships with new attendees while enriching your own workshop experience.
- Shape the Future: Join us in evolving the program to create a better experience for all participants.
What’s Next for 2025?
We’re listening to your feedback and aiming to make exciting improvements, but we need more mentors to make them possible!
- Smaller Pairings: With more mentors, we can pair mentors and mentees one-on-one or in smaller groups for more meaningful interactions.
- More Resources: We’re exploring ways to equip mentors and mentees with better tools and introductory materials before the event.
- Better Identifiers: Improved badges or pins will help mentors and newcomers find each other easily.
- Enhanced Networking: We’re working to refine the pre-event meet-up with fun networking opportunities.
How It Works:
- Pre-Event Introductions: Mentors and mentees will connect via email up to 3 weeks before the workshop.
- Welcome Meet-Up: TBD
- Guidance Throughout: Be available during the event to help your mentee get the most out of their experience.
Help us grow and improve this program for OARC 44 in Atlanta — volunteer as a mentor when you register for the workshop!
